Sanjay Dutt Refuses Body Double For Action Sequences In Yash Starrer 'KGF 2'

He has been roped in to portray the supervillain, Adheera.

New Delhi: Sanjay Dutt is all set to venture into the Kannada films with KGF Chapter 2. He has been roped in to portray the supervillain, Adheera.

For those uninitiated, Dutt’s first look from Yash’s KGF was highly appreciated online when it was released on the actor’s birthday back in 2020.

Dutt has been training for the role for months and has now told the film’s unit that he will not require a body double and would be shooting his own sequences. A source has stated , “There are elaborate action sequences in the film. The movie’s first part starring Kannada superstar Yash set a certain tone and the brief was to make the sequel grander. When Sanjay said he would shoot sans a body double, the production team had tried to dissuade him, citing safety reasons. But he held his ground because he felt Adheera’s menacing quality will lose touch if he doesn’t do the action scenes himself.”

Keeping a special set of safety protocols in place, the stunt coordinators have decided to walk Dutt through each stunt as per his wish. The source added, “The stunts were storyboarded and broken down before being filmed. Apparently, the action sequences have this haunting quality, which was executed skillfully by Sanjay.”

Apart from KGF, Sanjay’s next with Karan Malhotra which also features Ranbir Kapoor is set to release soon. He has also collaborated with Akshay Kumar and Sonu Sood for an upcoming period drama.
