A recipient of many awards, including three national awards, Raj Kapoor left behind a rich and an immortal legacy, one that will always be remembered as the golden period on the silver screen.

Shree 420 (1955)

A movie starring Nargis, Nadira, Prithviraj Kapoor along with Raj Kapoor, it is the story of a rich country boy who comes to a city to make a living. He falls in love with a poor woman, but is seduced by the lifestyle of his employer, which leads him to becoming a swindler. Nargis And Raj Kapoor have been the most iconic pairing.

Chori Chori (1956)

A light-hearted comedy, yet a beautiful story with Raj Kapoor paired opposite Nargis once again. It may not be their best movie, yet it’s the one you should watch for romance and good cheer. Even after 65 years, Chori Chori, which was heavily inspired from It Happened One Night and Roman Holiday, will give you a good time. 

Jis Desh Mein Ganga Beheti Hai (1960)

Last film made in black and white, ‘Jis desh mein Ganga beheti hai’ has a message of dacoit rehabilitation. The movie is about a simple man who walks into a dacoit camp, where he falls in love with a woman, and goes on to effect a change of heart among the gang members so they surrender.

Dil Hi Toh Hai (1963)

A classic 60s Bollywood romance with a little laughter, some action and a lot of good music. A predictable yet an entertaining plot that would Definitely keep you hooked.

Mera Naam Joker (1970) 

When we talk about a masterpiece, this is what it is. It’s a movie that will forever be remembered for changing the course of Indian cinema. It’s a heartwarming story of a man who is lonely and unhappy yet spreads happiness around in the world, dressed as a clown, describing slice of life cinema. The music also, like most of Raj Kapoor films, is to die for.
