Priyanka Chopra Shares A Video From Kenya, Addresses Climate Crisis

Priyanka Chopra, who is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for children's rights throughout the world, visited the places worst hit by the drought.

New Delhi: International celebrity Priyanka Chopra recently made a trip to Kenya for a UNICEF event. Priyanka has worked with UNICEF for many years, and she travels to and spends considerable time in a number of different countries each year in the course of her work for the organization. 

The actor, who is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for children's rights throughout the world, visited the places worst hit by the drought to learn more about the situation firsthand. 

On her recent trip to Kenya, Priyanka posted a video on Instagram that has now gone viral. Priyanka brought to light the dire water and food shortages in the nation.

In the video, Priyanka can be heard saying, "I am very uneasy today. My mind is in a million places at one time, I am really feeling on the edge. It's been this way since I boarded my flight from LA. I am in Kenya with UNICEF to see first-hand the severe crisis that is unfolding. And as a new mother, it really hits differently. I know it's going to be tough, but I want to take you on this journey."

Priyanka captioned the video, “Children are starving to death and millions are on the brink of starvation. This is the face of the climate crisis, and here in Kenya it’s happening right now. But, there is hope and there are solutions. Over the next few days I’ll be showing @unicef’s immense efforts happening on the ground to save lives. BUT in order to reverse this unprecedented crisis, money is desperately needed to ensure the good work continues.”

Priyanka was most recently seen in the film ‘The Matrix Resurrections’, which also starred Keanu Reeves. She is now working on a number of highly sought-after projects. Her first web series, Citadel, which was created by the Russo Brothers, is now complete. ‘Ending Things’ and ‘It's All Coming Back to Me’ are her upcoming projects. In addition, she will also star with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in the upcoming Bollywood flick ‘Jee Le Zaraa’.
