No 'Strings' Attached: Popular Pakistani Band Splits After 33 Years

'Strings' announced their separation as they posted an update on their social media. Read on.

New Delhi: Popular Pakistani hard rock band ‘Strings’ was initially formed by four college students in the year 1988. Their debut album ‘Strings’ came out in the year 1990 and soon became popular in Pakistan. The band is known for their big musical hits like ‘Duur’, ‘Yeh Hai Meri Kahani’ among others. The band was composed of two members and four live band members from Karachi.

Well, according to the latest update, the popular Pakistani band ‘Strings’ have parted ways after 33 years. The band announced this news as they posted an update on Facebook which read, “Hey guys. This post is a bit different from the usual. We have decided that today, 25/03/2021, is the day we graciously get to conclude STRINGS.”

The note further read, “The past 33 years have been incredible for both of us. It’s so rare to have the chance to be able to do things like this and we are infinitely grateful to all of our fans for making it possible. We hope you found it worthwhile as well 🙂. While the band technically may not be together anymore, both of us share an inseparable bond that will connect us no matter where life takes us. Thank you so much for everything.”

The original band composed of four members - Bilal Maqsood (vocals and guitars), Faisal Kapadia (vocals), Rafiq Wazir Ali (synthesizer) and Kareem Bashir Bhoy (bass guitar). In the early 2000s, the band also commanded a huge fan following in India. ‘Strings’ have also produced and directed the music reality series ‘Coke Studio Pakistan’ from 2013-2017.
