Oscars 2022: Twitter Abuzz After Will Smith Slaps Chris Rock Live During Ceremony

New Delhi: As the Oscars night ended with happiness and tears, the event that became the highlight of the evening was Will Smith’s slap at Chris Rock for making a joke on his wife Jada Pinkett.
During the presentation of a joke, Rock made a joke on Pinkett referring to her tightly cropped hair saying he could be in the sequel of “G.I. Jane”. The joke did not receive a light reaction from Pinkett as she felt uncomfortable about her alopecia.
What happened next was that Will Smith stood from his table, walked up to the stage, and slapped Chris Rock. While Rock and the entire audience were left in shock, Smith walked back to his table and told Rock in expletive language saying, “Keep my wife's name out of your f****** (expletive) mouth.”

The meme referred to the fact that minutes after the slap, Smith won the Best Actor award where he was congratulated by everyone in the crowd.
