Neena Gupta Hopes For Daughter Masaba To Get More Work As An Actor

Neena believes that her daughter Masaba, who has a tremendous acting aptitude, should accept more roles.

New Delhi: Neena Gupta is having a blast with her second acting career. An accomplished actress on her own, Neena Gupta also takes great pride in her role as a supportive parent of Masaba Gupta, a successful fashion designer. She believes that her daughter Masaba, who has a tremendous acting aptitude, should accept more roles.

‘Masaba Masaba’, a biographical drama series on Netflix, stars Masaba Gupta and her mother in a fictional tale of her life as a fashion designer, along with scenes from her personal and professional relationships.

Although Neena currently agrees with Masaba's decision to pursue acting, in the past she advised against it. In a conversation with Times News Network, Neena regretfully said, “All her life Masaba has been around people from the film industry. There is so much glamour and fame in this world that everyone wants to become an actor. She understood why I was discouraging her from becoming an actor,”

Neena continues, “When producer, Ashvini Yardi came up with the idea of making an OTT show on her life, I was amazed by the concept and worried at the same time, as it was a difficult role. But I was in for a surprise… She was so confident. When I saw the rushes, I was wowed by her performance. I apologised to her for stopping her from acting.”

She further said, “While I would like Masaba to act more, she is clear that she also has a fashion business that she is passionate about. So, let’s see where her luck takes her and what is written in her destiny. I am very proud of her and I wish that she gets more work as an actor. I have always criticised her all her life, but now I must say that she is very good,”

Fans and reviewers alike embraced Masaba Masaba's second season, much as they had the first. The two seasons of Masaba Masaba are available to watch on Netflix.
