Sky Force Box Office Day 6: Akshay Kumar's Strongest Opener After OMG 2 Inches Closer To Rs 100 Crore Mark

Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s military drama Sky Force hit the big screens on January 24. Within its first week, Sky Force has managed to cross ₹80 crore domestically and ₹96 crore globally.

Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s military drama Sky Force hit the big screens on January 24, receiving mixed reviews initially. However, positive word of mouth helped the film gain momentum over the weekend, leading to strong box office numbers. Within its first week, Sky Force has managed to cross ₹80 crore domestically and ₹96 crore globally.

On its sixth day, Wednesday, the film witnessed a slight rise in collections. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Sky Force earned ₹5.96 crore in India on day six, bringing its total domestic earnings to ₹80.75 crore. The film’s global total now stands at ₹96.75 crore, with its overseas collection contributing ₹7 crore. Meanwhile, its gross India collection is ₹89.75 crore.

The film recorded an overall occupancy of 12.14 percent on Wednesday, with evening and night shows attracting the most viewers. Among cities, Jaipur had the highest occupancy at 21.50 percent with 252 shows, followed by Mumbai, where Sky Force saw a 20.5 percent occupancy across 1,030 shows. Pune registered a 15.5 percent occupancy with 436 shows, while Delhi NCR had 10 percent occupancy across 1,608 shows.

 

Akshay Kumar's best opening day performance

Marking Veer Pahariya’s big-screen debut, Sky Force is a crucial film for Akshay Kumar as well. While all his releases in 2024 underperformed, the success of Sky Force has set a promising tone for 2025. The film also features Nimrat Kaur in a key role.

Sky Force also marked Akshay Kumar’s best opening day performance in recent years, surpassing the first-day earnings of his 2024 films—Sarfira (₹2.5 crore) and Khel Khel Mein (₹5.05 crore).

About the film

Based on India’s 1965 airstrike on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the Indo-Pakistani war, the film is directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, along with Jyoti Deshpande under Jio Studios. The film also stars Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur in pivotal roles.
