Salaar Day 2 Box Office Collection: Prabhas Starrer Records Massive Drop After Surpassing SRK's 'Jawan'

Part 1 of The Prabhas-starring Salaar Ceasefire broke box office records with its release. The film, directed by Prashanth Neel, made Rs 90 crore on its first day of release.

New Delhi: Part 1 of The Prabhas-starring Salaar Ceasefire broke box office records with its release. The film, directed by Prashanth Neel, made Rs 90 crore on its first day of release but had a decline of more than 60% on the next day. Early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk state that Salaar took in Rs 55 crore on Saturday. At present, the film has amassed a total of Rs 145.70 crores in India.

Outperforming Jawan and Pathan by Shah Rukh Khan, Leo by Vijay, and Jailer by Rajinikanth, the action-thriller had the largest opening for an Indian movie this year. Additionally, Salaar's global opening day gross of Rs 179 crore was substantially more than the global opening day gross of Rs 140 crore for Prabhas's infamous flop, Adipurush.

Jawan and Animal recorded openings of Rs 75 crore and Rs 63 crore, respectively, while Pathaan earned Rs 57 crore on its first day of release in India.

After Adipurush's poor box office performance, Salaar became the main source of hope for Prabhas' supporters. At the box office, the movie competed with Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan. On December 21, the film directed by Rajkumar was released in theatres; on December 22, Salaar was released. In comparison to SRK's other hits, such as Jawan and Pathaan, Dunki is having trouble at the box office; in three days, it has only brought in about Rs 75 crore.

On the other hand, Salaar's Telugu occupancy rate on Saturday was 75.64 percent. Market expert Ramesh Bala claims that Salaar's Hindi version brought in Rs 16 crore on Saturday. Prithviraj Sukumarn and Shruti Hassan play important parts in Salaar as well. There will be two sections to the film's release. Recently, Neel disclosed whether Salaar is a reimagining of his Kannada movie Ugramm.

Prabhas is frantic to succeed. Following the two hugely successful Baahubali films, the actor starred in several high-budget films that turned out to be box-office duds, including Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush. He will play the lead in Kalki 2898 AD, which is supposedly the most expensive Indian film ever made, following Salaar. In addition, he will play the lead in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit and return to Salaar in a follow-up.
