Salaar Box Office Collection Day 1: Prabhas Starrer Likely To Have The Highest Opening Ever, Earns Rs 95 Crore In India

'Salaar' is expected to have earned Rs 95 crore through pre-booking in India and sold Rs 30.5 lakh seats in advance.

New Delhi: 'Salaar', starring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan, was released in theaters on Friday. Both Prashanth Neel, the film's director, and the actors involved have garnered appreciation for their work. According to Sacnilk, 'Salaar' is expected to have earned Rs 95 crore through pre-booking in India and sold Rs 30.5 lakh seats in advance.

On day two, the movie has been estimated by the same source to have made an advance booking of Rs 12.77 crore. Also, the movie likely generated Rs 175 crores worldwide in revenue on its first day of release. Friday's shows started early, at 12:21 AM, and this trend is expected to continue throughout the weekend.

Trade expert Sumit Kadel took to Twitter and wrote, “#Salaar is a MASS BONANZA which has #PrashanthNeel Signature Stamped all over it. Film starts slow but end on a High Note with a Good Interval block though real game starts from the second half when twists in the screenplay unfold. Last 1 HR is EXTRAORDINARY that has some crazy Elevation Scenes which’ll get electrifying response in theatres [sequence where Prabhas saved a girl is a goosebumps inducing stuff] Film climax is the major highlight which paved the way for Salaar Part-2.”

'Salaar' was adequately original in the way the plot built, even if it was based on the 2014 Kannada movie 'Ugramm', which, as Prashanth acknowledged, had KGF's style. The movie is about two childhood friends and is set in the lawless land of Khansaar. When and whenever Varadha needs him, Deva promises to always be there for him. However, the sequel to the movie will look into what made these once-loyal friends into rivals.

The film review of ABP Live reads: Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran don't bring anything new to the table; their aggressive avatars are familiar from their previous films. Shruti Hassan's role is prominent in the first half, where her character transforms from an NRI to an Indian without much clarity. Overall, the performances are decent, with Shriya Reddy making a noteworthy contribution, and Jagapati Babu making an impact in a powerful role.

While Prithviraj plays Varadharaj Mannar in the movie, Prabhas plays Deva. Sriya Reddy, Bobby Simha, Jagapathi Babu, and others play key roles in the movie.
