New Delhi: General people, scribes, cricket enthusiasts are not the only ones with a confusion spiraling in their minds, people in the knowhow also start to roll their eyes when they hear a query related to Indian cricket team coach. So much so that a section of the officials who are running the Indian cricket at the present moment was interested to see Gary Kirsten appearing for the coach's interview.
A formal approach was also made but to their disappointment the former World Cup winning coach of Team India declined it straightway, as per sources inside the board.
Kirsten told the officials who approached him to send his resume that he is not interested in a long term stint in international cricket anymore.
He was associated with Team India from 2008 to 2011 and later on became the coach of South Africa. But he refused to continue for long citing personal reasons.
Under his tenure Indian cricket reached new heights, so it was only logical for the board to approach him in the time of turbulence.
But after his ‘not interested’ stance, Virender Sehwag remains the front runner as of now with Tom Moody is the second best choice.
However, a lot of time is left for the new resumes to come in and it won't be surprising if Sehwag faces a stiff challenge from someone else towards the end.
