'HanuMan' Director Prasanth Varma Breaks Silence On Film’s OTT Delay

Director Prashanth Varma addresses delay in OTT release of hit superhero film 'HanuMan'.

New Delhi: ‘HanuMan’, the Telugu superhero film starring Teja Sajja, has been making waves since its theatrical release on January 12, 2024. With accolades pouring in from both critics and audiences, anticipation for the film's online streaming debut has been at an all-time high. However, fans were left disappointed when the scheduled OTT release on March 8, 2024, during Maha Shivratri, didn't stream as planned.

Addressing the concerns of eager fans, director Prasanth Varma took to his social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter) on March 15 to provide an update on the situation. In a statement, Varma expressed regret over the delay, assuring fans that efforts are underway to resolve the issue promptly. 

He stated,  “#HanuMan OTT streaming delay was not intentional! We have been working tirelessly round the clock to sort things and bring the film to you asap! Our intention is always to give you nothing but the best! Please try to understand and continue supporting us! Thank you!"

The Hindi version of ‘HanuMan’ is set to premiere on Jio Cinema on March 16, 2024, from 8 pm onwards.

‘HanuMan’ is not just a movie; it's a superhero saga that follows the journey of a man bestowed with the powers of Lord Hanuman to protect the people of the fictional city of Anjanadri. Directed and written by Prasanth Varma, the film marks the inaugural chapter of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), promising audiences a thrilling cinematic experience.

Made on a budget of Rs 40 crore, the film has surpassed expectations, earning over Rs 330 crore at the global box office, cementing its status as a blockbuster hit. The film features an ensemble cast including Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Samuthirakani, Vijay Rai and Vennela Kishore.
