Brett Lee's Bollywood debut 'Unindian' faces Censor Board hurdle

New Delhi: These days the Censor Board is getting really strict about sensitive things that need attention. A film starring Brett Lee has now run into trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The Australian bowler turned is making his Bollywood debut with ‘UnIndian’ and the actor’s love scene with Tannishtha Chatterjee has been a cause of concern for the Censor Board. As per a report in Delhi Times, the examining committee has asked to tone down the one-minute-eight-seconds scene and if the makers agree with the Censor Board, the scene turns into a 26-seconds scene. unindian1 This is what the Committee suggested, "Remove the sideways visual and end climatic shot. The sex scene not to be synchronised with the mantra chanting."  The matter is that the love scene runs with a sermon scene in the background where followers chant 'Om Shreem Hreem'. The Censor Board has told the makers that the scene be altered if they want a U/A certificate.     unindian !To this director Anupam Sharma responds in a statement to the above publication saying, “The love scene runs simultaneously with a sermon scene where followers chant 'Om Shreem Hreem' which are spiritual chants and not religious. I'm a practising Hindu myself so there is no way I would offend anyone's sentiments.” He also added, "Speaking of the side profile, the actors are bareback in the scene. It's been shot aesthetically. Much more is shown on Indian television and item songs."
