New Delhi: Malaika Arora, a television personality, remembered that for the majority of her career, people viewed her "as a sexy bombshell." Malaika stated in a recent interview that no one took her seriously, during the initial days of her career.
Malaika acknowledged that she found it upsetting how other people perceived her. She continued by saying she had to "constantly deal with internal strife."
During an interview with Brides Today, Malaika said, "When you are perceived as a sexy bombshell, no one takes you seriously. And this is what people thought about me for the longest time. It bothered me how people thought of me as just a 'great body' and a 'good face'; I wanted to break away from this image, and I worked on myself to do so."
She added further, "Confidence was never an issue... If there is one thing that I have in abundance, it’s confidence. Today, I feel I am calmer and wiser...something I certainly wasn’t growing up. I remember I was constantly dealing with internal strife. Having said that, I am a born hustler and I will die a hustler."
In the same interview, Malaika who was earlier married to Salman Khan's brother actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, opened up about her relationship with boyfriend and actor Arjun Kapoor and her thoughts on tying-the-knot again. Malaika shared that she is ready to get married for the second time and still trusts the institution of marriage.
Malaika debuted in Bollywood films with the popular song Chaiyya Chaiyya from the film Dil Se (1998). She was a featured performer in a number of other songs, including Ekwari Tak Le from Bichhoo (2000), Munni Badnaam Hui from Dabangg (2010), Anarkali Disco Chali from Housefull 2, and Pandey Ji Seeti from Dabangg 2, all in 2012.
Moreover, Malaika has judged a number of reality competitions, including India's Got Talent, India's Next Top Model, and India's Best Dancer.
