Fish Venkat's Family Debunks Prabhas Aid Rumours Amid Critical Health Battle

Veteran actor Fish Venkat is battling a health crisis and requires Rs 50 lakh for a kidney transplant. Family denies reports of financial aid from Prabhas, calls it a hoax.

Veteran Telugu actor Fish Venkat, known for his comic timing and distinct Telangana slang, is currently battling serious health complications and undergoing treatment in the ICU. Amid a growing need for a kidney transplant estimated to cost Rs 50 lakh, his family has now come forward to debunk circulating reports about financial support from superstar Prabhas.

In a recent interaction with Suman TV, a family member clarified that a call purportedly made by Prabhas’ assistant offering help turned out to be fake.

“Actually, nothing like that happened. We have been answering every call we get to see if anyone can help us. Some unknown person called us pretending to be Prabhas Anna’s assistant. We found out after that it was a fake call. He doesn’t even know something like this is happening. We have not received any financial help yet,” they revealed.

This update directly contradicts a previous statement made by Venkat’s daughter Sravanthi, who had told One India that Prabhas’ team had reached out offering support for the transplant expenses.

Industry and Political Support Trickle In

Though Prabhas’ team has yet to come forward officially, a few notable names from the film and political space have already extended help. Actor Vishwak Sen contributed Rs 2 lakh toward the ongoing treatment.

In a heartfelt thank-you message shared via Sasi TV, the family said: “Vishwak Sen is the first hero from the film industry to know about Fish Venkat’s health and donate Rs 2 lakh. This is going to help us a lot… we urge everyone, from small artists to big heroes, to help Fish Venkat Anna.”

Earlier this year, Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan had also donated Rs 2 lakh, while politician Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao contributed Rs 1 lakh.

No Aid Yet from Industry Associations

Despite his long-standing contribution to Telugu cinema, the family said that no formal support has yet come from film industry bodies or associations, even as Venkat remains in critical condition, waiting for a transplant.

Fish Venkat has entertained audiences for decades with memorable appearances in films like Bunny, Adhurs, Dhee, and Mirapakay. Most recently, he was seen in R.P Patnaik’s thriller Coffee with a Killer, which premiered on Aha on January 31, 2025.
