New Delhi: Bollywood actor Triptii Dimri, popularly known as the 'National Crush' post her appearance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, is celebrating her birthday today, and the special occasion was marked by a heartfelt wish from her rumoured beau, Sam Merchant.
Sam, a businessman, took to Instagram to share a charming picture of the duo dressed in matching black outfits. He wrote, “Happy birthday dearest Tripti.” The photograph captures the two sharing smiles while seated closely.
Speculations about Triptii's relationship with Sam gained momentum when their photos from a wedding they attended together went viral on social media. Last month, Triptii wished Sam on his birthday by posting a picture with him, stating, “Happy Birthday @sam__merchant wish we could be as thin again without having to skip Ram shaam pani puri…”
Notably, Triptii was previously linked to actress Anushka Sharma’s brother, Karnesh Ssharma.
The talented actor has recently joined the cast of 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3', led by Kartik Aaryan and also featuring Vidya Balan. In addition to this, Triptii is set to star in Anand Tiwari’s Rola alongside Vicky Kaushal.
2023 had been a great year for Triptii as her career graph changed after the release of ‘Animal’. Her Instagram following went from went from over 600K to 4.5 million.
In an earlier interview with Indian Express, she talked about her new popularity. The actor told Indian Express, “The first day there wasn’t much that was said about me so I was like, ‘Ok, that happens. I did my best but at least people are liking the film.’ But slowly the tide changed, people started talking and now it hasn’t stopped!”
On being called ‘new national crush’ and ‘Bhabhi 2’, she said, “It does flatter me. Numbers are also a validation; it is a very visible form of love and I am grateful for that. But as an actor, I don’t want to get caught up in that. I know that people are also calling me that and honestly it just feels very, very overwhelming.”
The actor has given stellar performances in the past also in films like ‘Bulbbul’, ‘Qala’ and ‘Laila Majnu’.
