New Delhi: American pop artist Taylor Swift has become a billionaire, according to Forbes. The financial news outlet claims that the singer, whose estimated net worth is $1.1 billion, is the first musician to become a billionaire solely through her music and live performances. Swift has penned an extensive collection of songs and is the brains behind the first-ever billion-dollar tour. 

Taylor Swift joins official billionaires list

As of 2024, Forbes claimed to have compiled a list of 2,781 billionaires. The founder of the AI chatbox ChatGPT, Sam Altman, has also reached the 10-figure mark for the first time, alongside Taylor. A portion of the immense wealth that other successful prominent industry figures like Rihanna and Jay-Z have amassed comes from ownership in entertainment and fashion firms, among other ventures. 

Along with owning properties in New York, Nashville, Beverly Hills, and Rhode Island, the 34-year-old, also possesses a substantial real estate holdings portfolio. As the first musician to win Album of the Year four times, Swift made waves at the Grammy Awards this year.

Taylor Swift dating life

Swift's dating life also played a role in the media frenzy last year, as the singer began a very public romance with Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce, whose team went on to win the Super Bowl. This past season, Chiefs games—where Swift has frequently attended in a private box—shattered a number of ratings records. 

Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in Pennsylvania. As a teenager, she started writing songs professionally and signed as a country artist with Big Machine Records in Nashville.

Swift got into a well-documented battle with Big Machine a few years before landing a big deal with Universal. Swift's career entered a new phase when she sold her song catalogue to a private equity firm.
