Salman Khan Receives Fresh Threats On Social Media; Actor's Security Has Been Reviewed

Due to his alleged relationship with Salman Khan, Canadian mobster Lawrence Bishnoi fired gunshots outside the home of Punjabi musician Gippy Grewal.

New Delhi: The Mumbai Police carried out an additional review of actor Salman Khan's safety arrangements after a recent post on social media that posed a threat. Following threats from mobster Lawrence Bishnoi, the Mumbai Police have already granted the actor Y-plus security.

Following the recent threats against Khan, the Mumbai Police have notified him and reviewed his security measures.

“We have also written to the social media platform to check where the post has been generated from, whether the social media accounts is genuine of Bishnoi and who handles it as Bishnoi is in jail. We are trying to find the Internet protocol address,” said a police officer.

Due to his alleged close relationship with Salman Khan, Canadian mobster Lawrence Bishnoi fired gunshots outside the home of Punjabi musician Gippy Grewal a few days ago. In the White Rock neighbourhood of Vancouver, Canada, there were gunshots reported outside the musician's home. Lawrence Bishnoi later took responsibility for the unlawful act and stated that Salman Khan was the intended target of the message.

On Sunday, a Facebook message addressed to Punjabi singer-actor Gippy Grewal was posted by an account claiming to be that of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

“You consider Salman Khan a brother, but now it’s time for your ‘brother’ to come and save you. This message is also for Salman Khan – don’t be in the illusion that Dawood will save you; no one can save you. Your dramatic response to Sidhu Moose Wala’s death did not go unnoticed. We all know the kind of person he was and the criminal associations he had… You’ve now landed on our radar. Consider this a trailer; the full film will be released soon. Flee to any country you wish, but remember, death doesn’t require a visa; it comes uninvited,” it read.

Following the firing incident, Grewal claimed that he had only met Salman twice and that they were not friends.

After Salman Khan's personal assistant got a threat email in April 2023, Mumbai Police stepped up security around his residence. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, his aide Goldy Brar, and another person were charged with threatening the actor.
