'Fukrey' fame actor Varun Sharma has come out in support of the 'One Nation, One Election' initiative. Speaking at an awareness event in Delhi on Wednesday, he urged people to educate themselves about the proposal by reading, discussing it with friends, and engaging with others. Sharma emphasized the importance of having conversations about the subject with family and peers.

Sharma told news agency ANI, "I think it's a great initiative. I have been reading about this for the past two to three months. I think we should acquire more and more knowledge about it, and we should read up on it. The more we talk about it, the more it will be taken forward."
The actor, known for his comedy roles, spoke about a synchronized election system that would enhance efficiency and save time for both the government and citizens. "We have been taught since childhood that time is the most valuable thing. I am sure when this is consolidated, a lot of time will be saved for everyone, including the government," he added.

However, several netizens and social media users have not reacted positive to Sharma's post. A user wrote, "Bik gaya bhai saste me one election one nation scheme nhi chahiye," another wrote, "Esko acting me koi serious nhi leta politics me kaun lega."

Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha on Tuesday approved the extension of the Joint Parliamentary Committee's(JPC) tenure on One Nation One Election until the first day of the last week of the Monsoon session in 2025.
