"Ameesha and I saw bad times together. But when the good times came, unfortunately, we were not together. I was having my string of flops and she was also struggling. "The girl who came with 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai', 'Gadar' and 'Hum Raaz', she arrived at the top. But then she saw other girls taking her over. I also saw other directors coming and overtaking me. So, we both went through difficult times. And so, I understand the pain of an actress who is losing her ground."

Talking about Ameesha's film with Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji, Vikram added, "I have seen her being so excited about 'Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic'. Ameesha had pinned all her hopes on the film. The film did not do well. I have seen her pain."

Ameesha Patel has in the past spoken about how only celebrity kids like Kareena Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Esha Deol were considered insiders and how people like her were always on the margins.

ETimes also quoted her as saying that her contemporaries could not handle her success and there was jealousy with films being snatched under her nose.

She was apparently also cut off from a lot of movies, which she did not realize at the time. Ameesha also said that she signed some films and blocked dates, but a few months post announcement, she found out that she was no longer part of them.
