Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant Wedding: Akshay Kumar, who is currently promoting his film ‘Sarfira’, has tested positive for COVID-19. The actor was expected to make an appearance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding today since the groom visited the actor’s house to invite him. However, recent reports suggest that Akshay will be missing the event of the year.

As per Hindustan Times report, a source close to the production house said, “Akshay Kumar had been promoting his latest release Sarfira when he felt unwell, and decided to get tested after being told that some crew members of his promotions team had tested positive for covid. The actor tested positive on Friday morning, and would end up missing the last leg of promotions, as well as Anant Ambani’s wedding for which Anant had personally gone to invite him. It’s disappointing but the responsible guy that Akshay is, he has immediately isolated himself.”

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant will get married on July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Centre (BKC) in Mumbai.

Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sarfira’ is an official remake of the 2020 Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru’. The original film starred Suriya in the lead role. The film was released in theatres today. Directed by filmmaker Sudha Kongara, the film also stars Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madan. The Tamil actor Suriya will make a cameo appearance.
