CBI Refuses To Answer RTI Query On Sushant Singh Rajput Case

Sushant Singh Rajput was last seen in 'Dil Bechara' alongside Sanjana Sanghi who made her debut with the film. The film was released posthumously a month after Sushant's death.

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has refused to share any information about Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death in an RTI query. The 34-year old 'Sonchiriya' actor was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his Mumbai residence on 14 June 2020. The investigating agency is yet to reach a conclusion about the incident that left fans across the world heartbroken.

According to a new ANI report, an RTI was filed regarding Rajput's death. However, the probing agency refused to divulge any information related to it. "Sushant Singh Rajput case is in the process of investigation, information about the progress may impede the process of investigation. Information requested cannot be provided," CBI in its reply to an RTI query." ANI's tweet read.

Several theories around the cause of death had been in circulation. Sushant's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was also accused of misappropriating his wealth and abetting his suicide by the deceased's family. Later, the Narcotics Control Bureau( NCB) also registered a case against Chakraborty wherein she was accused of a 'drug angle' that led to Sushant's death.

She was also granted bail when the HC found no substantial evidence to support the claim. However, NCB had challenged HC's bail before the Supreme Court. The entire trial became a subject of intense media scrutiny and online trolling wherein Rhea was targeted. Many also came out in support of her and appealed to all to stop this 'witch hunt'.

Sushant Singh Rajput was last seen in 'Dil Bechara' alongside Sanjana Sanghi who made her debut with the film. The film was released posthumously a month after Sushant's death. The actor is survived by four sisters and his father.
