Amit Sadh Says Sushant Singh Rajput's Death Is 'Society’s Fault', Reveals Wanted To Quit Bollywood

Amit Sadh admitted that hearing about Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide made him consider quitting Bollywood.

New Delhi: Actor Sushant Singh Rajput's passing caused a momentary tremor in the Hindi cinema industry, and people are still reflecting on the unfortunate incident. Amit Sadh, a co-star of Sushant's, spoke candidly about his death. Sadh admitted that hearing about Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide left him feeling utterly depressed and considering quitting acting.

Sadh addressed the actor's suicide in 2020 in a recent podcast conversation with author Chetan Bhagat.

“I know the psyche of that person. When someone dies by suicide it means that there is complete darkness in their life. When this happens, it is not the person's fault, but it is the society’s fault. The people who were around that person are the ones who are at fault, because the person has become so hopeless at that point that he does not care about anything else... I have felt in the same way before too when it seems that there is no one that they have nothing,” the actor said.

Amit also disclosed during the same conversation that he had previously experienced suicide thoughts. Thereafter, Bhagat questioned Amid Sadh over his intention to leave the film industry. To which the actor replied,"Chid gaya tha maine. Bada tough hai yeh industry (I was frustrated. This industry is very difficult)."

Amit Sadh reminisced during the interview how he had filmed his first movie for a year and a half and grown friends with the late actor. Amit Sadh and Sushant Singh Rajput made their film debuts with 'Kai Po Che'. The film is adapted from Chetan Bhagat's 2008 novel 'The 3 Mistakes of My Life'.

At the age of 34, Sushant Singh Rajput reportedly died by suicide in June 2020. 'Dil Bechara' was his final movie to be released on OTT following his demise.
