Akshay Kumar Gives A Quirky Response When Asked About Charging Between Rs 50-100 Cr For Each Film

New Delhi: On Sunday, during the trailer launch event for ‘Selfiee’, Akshay Kumar was questioned about the costs he generally demands for each film. Without officially confirming or rejecting the rumours, he responded to reports that he charges between Rs 50 and 100 crore for every film.
With humour, the actor asked the reporter, "Mera badhiya reaction rehta hai (I have a good reaction)." Akshay Kumar then asked the person who raised the query, "Tera kya reaction rehta hai? Tune bataya tha ki teri sherwani mein pareshani hui. Tujhe kaisa laga tha (What was your reaction? You said you had issues with your sherwani. How did it make you feel)?"
Akshay said, "Acha lagta hai na? Aur lagna bhi chahiye, kyunki positive baatein hai na," when the reporter said he feels good. Akshay added, “Bhagwan kare tere sath bhi ho. (May God always be with you)."
Earlier, Akshay spoke candidly about the exorbitant cost of cinema tickets in India at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit.
He said, “There are so many other things that need to be done and not just by the actors but the producers and theatres as well. I’ll tell you I want to bring down my prices by 30-40%. Theatres need to understand that it’s recession time also. The audience has a limited amount of money to spend on entertainment. You cannot be spending so much on it. Everything has to change. And it’s not just the theatres. We have to work on the cost of me, the cost of making the film. Everything needs to be addressed,”
‘Selfiee’, starring Akshay Kumar, will also star Emran Hashmi, Nushratt Bharuccha, and Diana Penty. Akshay plays a 'superstar,' while Emraan Hashmi is both his greatest fan and a police officer in this action-comedy.
The action drama starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi is slated to premiere on February 24. 'Selfiee', a Raj Mehta-directed movie, is the official Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam movie Driving License. The lead actors in the movie were Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
