‘Big Loss For The Country’: Ajay Devgn On Milkha Singh’s Death From COVID-19 Complications

Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn paid tribute to Milkha Singh and told ABP News that his passing away is a great loss for the country. Read on.

Mumbai: Indian sprinter Milkha Singh took his last breath yesterday night (June 18) after a long battle with COVID-19. People from all across the world have been paying tribute to the ‘Flying Sikh’ ever since the news of his death broke. Many Bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and others have been paying tribute to the late sports star of India.

Well, tributes continue to pour in for Milkha Singh from the Hindi film industry. Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn also paid tribute to the ‘Flying Sikh’ and told ABP News, “The passing way of Milkha Singh is a big loss for the country. We can only pray for him.”

Earlier, the ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ actor also posted on social media about Milkha Singh’s death and tweeted, “I’ve always been & forever will be a fan of Milkha Singhji, who in his lifetime sped like the wind. Stories of the Flying Sikh are a part of Indian folklore. What a monumental loss. RIP #MilkhaSinghJi”.

Meanwhile, earlier today, Ajay Devgn reached the 13th road of the Juhu area to plant a new sapling at the place of a tree that had fallen recently due to cyclone Tauktae. Hundreds of trees were uprooted in Mumbai due to the effect of the cyclone. In such a situation, BMC has first started a campaign to plant new trees in place of fallen trees in the West Ward of Mumbai. Under the 'Be a Tree Parent - Adopt a Tree' campaign, the help of Bollywood celebrities is also being taken. Before Ajay Devgan, stars like Hema Malini, Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan have also been a part of this campaign and planted new saplings in the West Ward area.

Ajay Devgan arrived with his son Yug and actor Vatsal Seth on the location of planting the sapling. After watering the plant, Ajay Devgan said, “There is a need that every person should plant trees in this way and promote saving the environment.”

He further added, “If every person in the country plants a tree outside his house or takes care of at least one tree outside his house, then automatically we all will be able to protect the environment and keep the country green.”

Speaking on the work front, Ajay Devgn will be next seen starring in an extended cameo role in ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘RRR”. He will also be seen starring in the lead roles in ‘Maidaan’, ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’, ‘Thank God’ and ‘Mayday’.
