New Delhi: 'Adipurush', a cinematic adaptation of the Ramayana, has been criticised for its dialogue. Moviegoers have been complaining loudly about the cringeworthy speech in Adipurush since its release. Amid the ongoing 'Adipurush' controversy, the writer of the film Manoj Muntashir sought security from Mumbai Police. Manoj Muntashir has been given protection by the Mumbai Police department. The police said they are looking into the situation.

While the movie is doing well at the box office, writer Manoj Muntashir has been giving interviews in which he defends the film and addresses criticisms of it.
Muntashir took to Twitter on Sunday (June 18) to vent over the negativity directed at him. However, Muntashir's remark wasn't an apology; rather, it was an explanation of why his script, which he says comprises 4,000 lines, shouldn't be judged based on five offending lines.

The film stars Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janki, Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, Sunny Singh as Shesh, and Devdutta Nage as Bajrang. The reported budget for the film is a whopping Rs 500 crore.
