Anurag Thakur Reacts To Adipurush Dialogues Row, Says 'Nobody Is Allowed To Hurt The Sentiments Of People'

Information and Broadcasting Minister, Anurag Thakur, has reacted to the controversy surrounding Adipurush. The Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer has been receiving criticism from all quarters due to its depiction of Ramayan and a few of its dialogues. According to ANI, Anurag Thakur said that the CBFC has taken the decision needed. He also said that the writer and the director have also agreed to change some of the dialogues in the film and nobody is allowed to hurt the sentiments of people. He added that religious sentiments will not be hurt under his watch.

Makers To change controversial dialogues
Earlier, After receiving severe criticism over the dialogues, the makers of the film announced that they would be rewriting the lines as a mark of respect to the audience. 
 
A statement read: "Making this visual spectacle a memorable cinematic experience, the team decides to make alterations to the film's dialogues, valuing the input of the public and the audience." 
 
"The makers are revisiting the said dialogues, ensuring they resonate with the core essence of the film and the same will reflect in the theatres in the next few days. This decision is a testament that inspite of unstoppable collections at the Box Office, the team is committed and nothing is beyond the sentiments of their audiences and harmony at large."

Since its release, the film is embroiled in controversy majorly because of its dialogues specifically regarding the Lanka Dahan scene where Lord Hanuman is heard mouthing the lines "Kapda tere baap ka. Tel tere baap ka. Aag bhi tere baap ki. Toh jalegi bhi tere baap ki" to Meghnad. 

Adipurush box office collection
Despite the criticism and controversies, the film has minted Rs 340 crore at the global box office in three days, according to the makers. 

Production banner T-Series said the movie minted Rs 100 crore globally on the third day of its release. 

"Adipurush' continues to captivate audiences across generations, crossing an astounding Rs 340 crores on the opening weekend at the box office! Jai Shri Ram," T-Series said in a statement posted on its official Twitter page. 

The film stars Prabhas as Raghav, Kriti Sanon as Janaki and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh.
