Watch: Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Serves Tea At Roadside Stall In Malbazar

New Delhi: A video of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee making tea and serving it to the people at a tea stall has gone viral on social media, as part of her campaign for upcoming Panchayat polls.

In a video shared by news agency ANI, Bengal CM can be seen making tea at a roadside tea stall in Jalpaiguri's Malbazar area. She later pours the tea into tea cups before handing them out to the customers.

Notably, Banerjee on Monday began her full-scale campaign for the July 8 panchayat elections from North Bengal's Cooch Behar.

While speaking at an election rally, Banerjee accused the BSF of scaring voters in the bordering areas of the state at the behest of the saffron camp and asked the police administration to keep a close watch on their activities.

"I have information that in the run up to the panchayat election, some BSF officials are visiting the border areas, threatening voters and forcing them not to vote. I will ask people not to be scared of their tactics and fearlessly participate in the elections," she said.

Asserting that Trinamool will defeat BJP in the three-tier rural polls, Banerjee said, "We will then oust the BJP from the Centre and bring a development-oriented government in the country."

The TMC supremo also asked people to send photographs of those who seek bribes, and "prompt action will be taken against the corrupt."

Around 5.67 crore voters are likely to exercise their franchise in the panchayat polls to elect nearly 75,000 candidates in zilla parishads, panchayat samiti and gram panchayats.
