Those Supporting Triple Talaq Doing Grave Injustice To Muslim Daughters: PM Modi In Bhopal

PM reached Bhopal on Tuesday where he inaugurated five Vande Bharat Express trains after which he addressed the booth workers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that those who were supporting the triple talaq issue are doing grave injustice to Muslim daughters. "Those who are supporting the triple talaq are doing grave injustice to Muslim daughters," Modi said while addressing Bharatiya Janata Party booth workers from Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal. PM reached Bhopal on Tuesday where he inaugurated five Vande Bharat Express trains after which he addressed the booth workers.

Here are the top quotes from his speech in Bhopal.

  • "Muslims of India should understand who are those inciting them for their gains. Today we are seeing some people inciting others (Muslims) in the name of a uniform civil code. Even the Constitution talks about equal rights for the citizens. They (opposition) blame us, but it is they who do Muslim, Muslim."
  • "In vote bank politics, nomadic tribes were deprived of government schemes. In the last nine years, we took notice of every single family and every small group."
  • "BJP workers are strong soldiers not only of BJP but also of achieving the resolutions of the country. For every worker of BJP, the interest of the country is paramount, the country is bigger than the party. Where the country is bigger than the party... it is auspicious for me to talk to such hardworking workers."
  • "Today people are being instigated in the name of UCC. How can the country be run on two (laws)? The Constitution also talks of equal rights...Supreme Court has also asked to implement UCC. These (Opposition) people are playing vote bank politics."
  • "The lives of Pasmanda Muslims have been made difficult by those who do vote bank politics, they are not treated equally. They have been exploited by members of their community."

PM Modi earlier on Tuesday reached Bhopal's Rani Kamalapati Railway Station where he flagged off five Vande Bharat Express trains with two of them being for Madhya Pradesh where assembly elections are due for this year. The other three are in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Bihar. This was the first time that so many Vande Bharat trains were launched in a day.

As per the PMO, the five trains that have been launched are Rani Kamalapati-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express, Khajuraho-Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat Express, Madgaon (Goa)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express, Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, and Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express.
