'Congress Sitting With People Spewing Venom': PM Modi Tears Into Oppn Over DMK's 'Anti-Sanatana' Remark

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the interview, spoke on a range of issue including Lok Sabha Elections, the electoral bond scheme, Ukraine war and the opposition.

Days ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday opened up on the Ram Mandir issue and DMK leader's remark against Sanatan Dharma.

PM Modi, in an exclusive interview to news agency ANI, said Ram Mandir was a political weapon for the opposition. However, after the construction of the grand temple in Ayodhya, the issue has gone out of their hands.

Attacking the opposition, the PM questioned Congress why it is in alliance with parties spewing venom against Sanatana Dharm.

"This should be asked of Congress - the same Congress with which Mahatma Gandhi had associated himself once upon a time; the same Congress whose Indira Gandhi publically wore Rudraksha Maala round her neck. Congress should be asked what is its compulsion to sit with people who are spewing such venom against Sanatana? Will it leave its politics incomplete? What is this perversion in the Congress mindset," PM Modi questioned.

PM Narendra Modi, during the interview, spoke on a range of issue including Lok Sabha Elections, the electoral bond scheme, Ukraine war and the opposition.

"DMK was perhaps born in this hatred...but the question is not about them. It is about a party like Congress. Has it lost its basic character?... It is a matter of concern for the country that it is a compulsion for Congress," he added.

Responding to the question on electoral bonds, PM Modi said everyone would regret the decision of Supreme Court scrapping the scheme.

"Due to electoral bonds you are getting the trail of the money. Which company gave it? How did they give it? Where did they give it? And that is why I say when they will think honestly, everyone will regret it," he added.
