ABP Exit Poll 2019: Congress expected to gain in Punjab, Jharkhand Kerala, MP; lose ground in West Bengal

New Delhi: The seventh and final phase of polling which concluded on May 19th brought an end to the voting for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The Lok Sabha elections were held across seven phases in 542 constituencies. The counting of voting will take place on May 23. ABP News conducted an Exit poll for the Lok Sabha elections, projecting the BJP-led NDA to get a clear majority by winning 277 out of the 542 seats. The BJP on its own is expected to win 227 seats while its NDA allies are expected to add 40 seats to their tally. The Congress-led United Progressive Front is expected to win 130 seats while the other parties are likely to bag 135 seats. As per ABP News Exit poll, the Congress party is expected to almost double its seats tally in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls from what they won in the 2014 general elections. The Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party is expected to clinch 87 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as opposed to the 44 seats which they had won in 2014 Lok Sabha polls. According to the ABP News Exit poll, while the Congress is expected to fare better in the states of Kerala, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand , the party is likely to lose ground in West Bengal. ABP Exit poll: Congress party's projected seat wins in Karnataka The Congress is likely to improve its poll tally by one seat in Karnataka. The party is projected to win 10 seats as compared to the 9 it had won in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. ABP Exit poll: Congress party's projected seat wins in Kerala The Congress is expected to fare better in the general elections in Kerala. The party is likely to win 11 seats as compared to the 8 seats it had clinched in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. ABP Exit poll: Congress party's projected seat wins in Madhya Pradesh The Congress is in line to improve its performance in the Central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The INC is projected to win seven seats as compared to the 2 seats it bagged in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. So, the Congress is expected to gain 5 seats in the state which has been considered a BJP bastion. ABP Exit poll: Congress party's projected seat wins in Punjab The Congress is expected to make massive inroads into the BJP in Punjab vote share by winning 8 seats. The grand old party of India is expected to improve on its tally by three seats. The Congress is likely to win eight seats in the 2019 LS polls as opposed to three seats it won in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. ABP Exit poll: Congress party's projected seat wins in Jharkhand In Jharkhand, The Indian National Congress party is expected to put up a much better performance in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls as compared to what they did in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. INC is projected to clinch eight seats as compared to their dismal performance in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls where they did not open their account. ABP Exit poll: Congress party's projected seat wins in West Bengal The Congress is set to lose ground in West Bengal, faring poorly than how it had performed in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls . The INC is expected to win two seats as opposed to the four it had won in 2014 general elections.
