Vikram Limaye to join National Stock Exchange as MD and CEO

New Delhi [India], July 15 (ANI): The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Saturday said that former banker Vikram Limaye will be joining the exchange as Managing Director and CEO with effect from Monday (July 17).

Limaye, who has been relieved by the Supreme Court of his responsibilities at the Committee of Administrators of BCCI, will be joining the NSE after he was being appointed by a panel, set up by the Supreme Court.

A commerce graduate, Limaye started his professional career with Arthur Andersen in Mumbai. He then worked with Ernst & Young and Citibank.

With an MBA degree in Finance and Multinational Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Limaye has also worked with Wall Street for eight years, with Credit Suisse First Boston before returning to Mumbai in 2004.

However, last month the markets regulator Sebi cleared Limaye's appointment as the head of NSE, thus ending his services at BCCI. (ANI)
