India Crosses $400 Billion In Export: Piyush Goyal Says It's A 'Make In India' Blockbuster

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet has called this achievement a key milestone for India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat

New Delhi: For the first time in India’s history, the country has achieved goods export of $400 billion on March 23, nine days ahead of schedule.

In a news meet, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said, “We have scaled the $400 billion goods export mountain. Every hour, day, and month leading to this monumental achievement has been exhilarating.”

Goyal, in his reply during the question hour in the Lok Sabha in February, had said, “For 10th month in a row, April 2021 to January 2022, India has posted over $30 billion of exports. It is a record, we have already crossed $334 billion of exports which is more than the highest ever that India has done in full 12 months period. We are well on track to achieve $400 billion of exports.”

According to ANI tweet, Goyal has compared India's $400 billion export achievement with the success of Kashmir Files.

Engineering goods exports up by about 50 per cent compared to last year.”

Goyal has also said that the UAE has formally ratified the India-UAE comprehensive partnership. “Once paperwork is done, the trade agreement will come into force...could happen anytime in the next 6 weeks,” he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the morning lauded India’s achievement in the field of export.

In a statement, Modi said on Twitter, “India set an ambitious target of $400 Billion of goods exports and achieves this target for the first time ever.
