Budget 2020: PM Modi Asks Citizens For Their Ideas, Suggestions; Here's How To Do It

Various reports suggest that amid the ongoing economic slowdown, PM Modi has taken over the driver's seat in this year's Budget and has been actively meeting economists, industry leaders and experts to revive the stalled growth of the country.

New Delhi: With days left for the Central government to present its Union Budget for 2020-21 fiscal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens of the country to pitch in and share their ideas for the budget, which is most likely to be tabled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1. Even Government of India's citizen engagement platform MyGovIndia has asked for suggestions for Budget 2020 on Twitter. MyGovIn asked people to share valuable ideas for the farming sector, education and others. "The Union Budget represents the aspirations of 130 crore Indians and lays out the path towards India's development. I invite you all to share your ideas and suggestions for this year's Budget on MyGov": PM Modi twitted tagging MyGovIndia. Citizens of India can share their ideas and suggestions with Modi government using this link. Various reports suggest that amid the ongoing economic slowdown, PM Modi has taken over the driver's seat in this year's Budget and has been actively meeting economists, industry leaders and experts to revive the stalled growth of the country. Earlier in the day, PM Modi chaired a meeting with experts at the Niti Aayog to discuss the state of economy in the national capital. He has in recent times held two mega meetings taking feedback from top industry captains, as well as over 10 meetings with different industrialists. Recently, the Prime Minister met top industry leaders, including Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons Ratan Tata, Adani Group founder Gautam Adani, JSW Group chairman Sajjan Jindal, and Reliance Industries’ Ltd chairman Mukesh Ambani to take their feedback for the upcoming budget. The prime minister often seeks suggestions from people on various issues. He had been seeking ideas for his Independence Day speech. People have also been giving suggestions to the prime minister for his monthly 'Mann ki Baat' radio programme.
