Volkswagen will launch the new Golf GTI on the 26th of May and in the first lot around 150 cars would come while this is for the first time that the Golf badge is coming to India. Here let us take a look at the top 5 things that you should know about this performance car.

 

1. The Golf GTI has been one of the most iconic cars within the Volkswagen range while being the original hot hatchback which now comes to India via CBU fully imported form. This is the latest and the generation of the Golf GTI which has been around from 

 

2. The Golf GTI gets a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine which develops 265 horsepower and 370Nm which means it will do 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. Standard is a 7 speed dual clutch automatic with paddle shifters.

 

 

 

3 Styling wise the Golf GTI has an aggressive look with slim headlamps, x shaped fog lamps and an illuminated grille while there are 18 inch alloys too. The rear styling has twin chrome exhaust too signifying the performance focus.

 

 

4. The Golf GTI gets features like a 12.9 inch touchscreen, a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster, ADAS, plaid seats, 7 speaker audio system, wireless app connectivity, Rear camera and park distance control, panoramic sunroof, 3 zone climate control, rear ac vents and more.

 

 

5. The Golf GTI is a 5 door hatchback with a length of 4289mm and a wheel base of 2627 of mm while the ground clearance is 136mm. Boot space is 380l and stretchable to 1257l.
