New 2023 Hyundai Verna Bookings Open, Sedan Features New Styling Theme & Engine — Details

The 2023 Hyundai Verna will get an upgrade in terms of features with cooled seats, sunroof, and more. The new Verna will be the second Hyundai to get ADAS after the Tucson.

Shortly after launching the Ioniq 5 at the Auto Expo, Hyundai opened bookings for its new generation Verna sedan. This is an all-new model and gets a new styling theme while the interior along with the engine line-up will also be changed. Bookings for the new Verna are open at Rs 25,000 while the styling represents a big change from the earlier Verna with being larger plus having a more sleek styling.

The front end has slim LED lighting with a headlamp below while there is a large grille. The roofline flows in like a coupe along with sharp character lines as well. The rear gets connecting LED lights too.

Inside, we expect Hyundai to give the new Verna a more premium look with a large touchscreen display along with a fully digital instrument cluster too. The new Verna will get an upgrade in terms of features with cooled seats, sunroof, powered seats and even ADAS features. The new Verna will be the second Hyundai to get ADAS after the Tucson.

In terms of powertrains, there is a new 1.5 Turbo GDi Petrol engine that is available with 6-speed Manual Transmission (6MT) and 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (7DCT). This replaces the current 1.4l turbo petrol which also does duty in other Hyundai cars. The new 1.5l turbo that will do duty on the new Verna will also make its way into the Creta soon.

The other engine in the new Verna line-up would be the 1.5l naturally aspirated engine with manual and a CVT automatic. New Verna will be available in four trim levels- EX, S, SX and SX(O). In terms of colour options, the new Verna will come in 7 Monotone and 2 Dual tone exterior colour options including the 3 new monotone colours - Abyss Black (New), Atlas White (New), Tellurian Brown.

We expect a launch soon with production starting next month.
