Maruti Suzuki will launch the much awaited e Vitara this month with their first electric SUV being retailed via the Nexa sales network. The e Vitara was first shown at the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Global Expo and has its own bespoke platform. We expect a range of about 500km from the e Vitara and there would be two battery packs on offer- 49 kWh and 61kwh.

The top-end e Vitara wiki also makes 173bhp. The range given is for the larger battery pack too. The e Vitara also has a completely different interior from the other Maruti Suzuki cars with a digital instrument cluster and a larger touchscreen along with a different dashboard. It also gets more safety features and additional equipment while it has a standard sunroof only.

Plus it has ADAS level 2 which is now also seen on other SUVs in this price range. Pricing for the e Vitara is quite crucial since this segment already has a lot of competition. We also expect the e Vitara to be the most expensive Maruti Suzuki SUV but top-end versions would be below Rs 30 lakh.

The e Vitara will compete with cars like the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta electric and the Tata Curvv EV plus the MG ZS. For Maruti Suzuki this would be an important car but a clearly premium product. We will know more details soon regarding its pricing and launch.
