The Jimny is one of the most awaited new cars of 2023 and now with the launch being expected to be in June, the production of this SUV has started. The Jimny in its 5-door form will be made at the Maruti Gurugram plant and post showroom previews and the SUV being shown at the Auto Expo, the Jimny has already garnered nearly 25,000 bookings.
The Jimny 5-door has been made for India and was first shown at the Auto Expo. The 5-door version brings in more practicality without compromising on the off-road ability.
The Jimny would be launched with a sole 1.5l petrol powertrain while 4x4 would also be standard. If you look at the gearbox options, the Jimny will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter automatic. The Jimny in its 5-door form will also be exported.
In terms of pricing, we expect the Jimny to start around the Rs 10 lakh mark with leaked prices showing that. Amongst the variants, the top variant with the most features would be expected to be the most in-demand while the bookings also point to that way.
The Jimny would be sold via Nexa sales outlets and in terms of colour options it will be available in 7 colour options including 5 monotone shades and 2 dual-tone options.
