Kia's All-New MPV Kia Carens To Be Revealed On Dec 16, Know If It Is Better Than Rivals XL6 And Innova

The Carens is based on the Seltos platform but would be having a different look and a new styling layout.

We knew it for long but finally, the official name for the new Kia MPV (Kia calls it RV) is called Carens. The name comes from an older MPV from Kia sold in worldwide markets and Kia has taken that name for India. The Carens is important as it is the new product after a while and takes on the MPV segment. We are yet to see it but it might be a different MPV-like version and not just a stretched Seltos.

The Carens is of course based on the Seltos platform but would be having a different look and a new styling layout for even its interior. It will have a different look and a longer wheelbase over the Seltos. It is expected to be bigger and more luxurious too. The Carens would come in three-row form with either a 6 or a 7 seater variant. The top-end would come with captain seats and more features too.

The interior looks different from a Seltos with its own center console while the feature list would get wireless charging, connected car tech UVO, 360-degree camera, sunroof, ventilated seats, and more. There could be extra features for the second-row passengers too such as cupholders or more. The Carens will rival the XL6 or the Innova Crysta while getting a 1.5l petrol engine or a 1.5l diesel seen with the Seltos. There would be manual and automatic versions too with both the engines. Unlike the Seltos, the Carens will not get turbo petrol. The car would be revealed on 16th December while the launch would take place next year starting.
