Political Heat: Jharkhand BJP Targets Rahul Gandhi and Hemant Soren Over Student Agitation

Political tensions in Jharkhand have intensified over the ongoing student agitation against alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations. BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo has launched a sharp attack on the Hemant Soren government, alleging that students have been forced to leave their studies and take to the streets because of the state government's handling of the issue. Shahdeo also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning why he speaks about student concerns in other parts of the country but, according to the BJP leader, has remained silent on the protests in Jharkhand. The BJP has sought to turn the student movement into a larger political issue by directly targeting both Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Meanwhile, the agitation by JPSC-JSSC aspirants is entering a critical phase. Protesters have announced that government effigies will be burnt across all 24 districts of Jharkhand as part of their ongoing campaign. Student groups have given the government a deadline of August 18 to address their demands. The protesters have warned that if their demands are not accepted, they will intensify the movement and surround Chief Minister Hemant Soren's residence in Ranchi on August 20. Student organisations have also raised the demand for the Chief Minister's resignation. The escalating political confrontation comes as students continue their agitation over examination-related demands, including cancellation of disputed examinations and an independent investigation. With the August 18 deadline approaching, pressure is mounting on the state government to respond to the protesters.
