Kawasaki Ninja 500 Bookings Open. Check Out Price Of This Bike That Costs More Than Your Average Car

While globally, there are multiple colour options, the new Kawasaki Ninja 500 comes to India with an all-black look.

Performance and premium motorcycles have exploded in terms of popularity and that's where manufacturers want to be. Kawasaki recently launched its Ninja 500 for Rs 5.2 lakh, which makes it more expensive than some small cars in India.

The Ninja 500 will replace the 400 eventually. It gets the same sharp-cut styling with various slashes to bring an even more aggressive look. It competes with the Aprilia RS 457 in India and has a new liquid-cooled, 451cc, parallel-twin engine, which pumps out 45 bhp. At 171 kg, the new Ninja 500 is lighter than the Aprilia RS 457, which weighs 159 Kg (dry).

The seat height of the Ninja 500 is 785 mm and that means it is fairly practical. The ground clearance of the NInja 500 is 145 mm.

The features on the Ninja 500 include an LED headlight, an LCD display with Bluetooth, an assist-and-slipper clutch with a 6-speed gearbox, and dual-channel ABS.

While globally, there are multiple colour options, the new Ninja 500 comes to India with an all-black look. We do wish though that the Ninja's iconic green shade also made it to India.

Being an import, the price is high, but it costs the same as the Ninja 400 at Rs 5.2 lakh in India and is slightly cheaper than the Eliminator cruiser.

However, compared to direct rivals, the Ninja 500, being a CBU, is clearly more expensive as the RS457 is priced at Rs 4.1 lakh.

Bookings have started for this beast of a motorcycle and deliveries are expected to commence in March.
