Hyundai Ioniq5 Bookings To Open On December 20, EV To Be Launched At Auto Expo

The Ioniq5 would be assembled in India and will most likely come with a single motor configuration.

Hyundai Ioniq5 Booking: Hyundai will launch its first bespoke EV based on its new modular EV platform and it will launch it in January 2023 at the Auto Expo. The Ioniq5 would be assembled in India and will most likely come with a single motor configuration for being priced aggressively. Bookings for the car will start on December 20.

The Ioniq5 is based on the new Hyundai design philosophy and has parametric design elements including LED headlamps and surfacing. The 20-inch wheels are also aero optimised for range. Speaking of which the range is expected to be ample though we await final specifications which would be expected to be revealed closer to launch.Hyundai Ioniq5 Bookings To Open On December 20, EV To Be Launched At Auto Expo

The Ioniq5 would also be unique in the fact that it has a full glass roof with no partition and a sustainable interior. It uses Bio paint which uses sustainable oil extractions while the interior uses eco-processed leather with the headlining fabric and carpets also being made from sustainable materials.

The Ioniq5 would also have a modular interior with a movable centre console while having a flat floor thanks to a bespoke EV platform. It will also have a pair of screens and all of the latest technology features which we expect.

The Ioniq5 would be the first car to be on sale via the E-GMP platform and the second EV after the Kona which was the first EV SUV on sale when it was first launched in India. In global markets, the Ioniq5 comes with two battery packs with either 58 kWh or 72.6 kWh while most likely a single motor layout will be offered. In terms of driving range, expect more than 400km on offer with a real-world range coming closer to that. The Ioniq5 will compete with EVs like the BYD Atto3 and the Volvo XC40 Recharge amongst others.
