Hyundai i20 Facelift Comes With Sharper Looks, New Alloys And ADAS

The bumper and the grille have now been sharpened up and resemble closer to the sportier N-line models while the rear styling also gets a tweak.

Hyundai has revealed the i20 facelift for some global markets and this new premium hatchback gets some updates to its design namely sharper looks and more equipment. The bumper and the grille have now been sharpened up and resemble closer to the sportier N-line models while the rear styling also gets a tweak with a redesigned bumper along with new tail-lamps.

Elsewhere there are new 16 or 17 inch alloys as well. There are three exterior colours that are brand-new: Lucid Lime Metallic, Lumen Grey Pearl, and Meta Blue Pearl. Inside, you have a 4.2-inch LCD cluster, USB type-C, second-generation eCall based on the 4G network, and Over-the-Air (OTA) map updates.

It continues to feature two 10.25in screens as well. A big change though is the addition of ADAS with Hyundai Smart Sense safety features now being added to the i20. It gets Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) for ‘City’, ‘Interurban’, and ‘Pedestrian’ now includes ‘Cyclist’ plus Rear Cross-traffic Collision Assist (RCCA), Blind-spot Collision-avoidance Assist (BCA) and Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC).

Engine options remain the same including a turbo petrol unit. In India we expect the new i20 to come next year as for now, we expect the Exter micro SUV to be the next big launch for Hyundai India which is scheduled for August. That said, these updates can make it to the India spec i20 and the addition of ADAS could be a huge advantage as currently ADAS comes with a few midsize sedans including the Verna itself from Hyundai and premium SUVs.

The updated i20 could carry a small premium over the current i20. Hyundai currently sells the i20 with petrol engine options and also including the N-Line variant which sits at the top of the i20 range.
