Most Accessible SUV With A V8 Engine? Defender SUV Gets A New Powertrain
The V8 Defender also sports 20inch Satin Dark Grey wheels with all terrain tyres. Other features include electronic air suspension, Windsor leather seats with 14 way heated and cooled seats.
The Land Rover Defender is one of their most popular models and has been a huge hit in India. Now, the luxury brand has reintroduced the V8 engine in India with a starting price of Rs 1.39 crore. However, unlike some of the other models, the Defender is still imported into it. The 2025 Defender has a 419bhp V8 engine while being available in 90, 110 and 130 body styles.
The V8 Defender also sports 20inch Satin Dark Grey wheels with all terrain tyres. Other features include electronic air suspension, Windsor leather seats with 14 way heated and cooled seats. Plus there are ebony interiors with winged headrests and even the second row has climate seats. Other features include configurable cabin lighting, Matrix LED lights, Meridian sound system plus soft close tail door. For the 25Y model, there is a contrast black roof, Off-road packs and more.
The longer Defender 130 gets the most space and has captain's seats for the second row. The Defender range also has a redesigned centre console for more storage. The 5.0-litre V8 is a huge engine but now is more accessible than before which makes it a different proposition than the other performance SUVs out there.
With the X-Dynamic HSE and X getting a V8, this is a powerful engine while also much more accessible in pricing over the other V8 SUVs. There is of course the 2.0l turbo petrol also on offer on the 110 and a 3.0-litre diesel available on all body styles. The Defender is a big seller and this move makes the V8 a more attractive option while taking the place of the six cylinder.
