Sandeshkhali Poll Violence: In Sandeshkhali, West Bengal, there has been violence once more. Here, there has been an altercation between the locals and the cops. In response to the violence that occurred during voting on Saturday, June 1, during the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections, police intervened and brought into custody a local. After protesting against it, people physically freed him from the cops. There was a lot of sloganeering during this time, and the locals and the police got into altercations. In the meantime, the local population was targeted by the police, who used lathi charges as a form of reprisal. Women from the area were spotted leading the police encounter. The women and the policeman got into a heated argument when the police returned to the village to take the arrested suspect into custody. The cops were forced to leave the scene without making an arrest as the locals demonstrated against them.
