In the midst of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the 5th BIMSTEC Summit on Wednesday (March 30, 2022), saying that recent events in Europe have "raised worries about the stability of world order." Prime Minister Modi remarked that the time has come to make the Bay of Bengal the bridge of connection, prosperity, and security during the virtual summit, which is being hosted by Sri Lanka, the current BIMSTEC chair.
