73rd Republic Day | Know when & where was the FIRST PARADE held | Special coverage

On 26 January 1950 Rajpath witnessed the celebration of the country's first Republic Day. The country has seen the Republic Day parade every year on the Rajpath, but the first parade of Republic Day was not held on the Rajpath. The first Republic Day parade of 1950 took place at the Irvine Stadium, which is today called the National Stadium.
