Woman Cricketer Bats In Salwar Kameez Against Younis Khan, Netizens Say 'Good Forward Defensive Stroke'

Cricket is arguably the most popular and loved sport in the subcontinent countries like India and Pakistan. It is a dream for people to meet their favourite players and play a game of cricket with them. Dr Samara Afzal, who lives in the UK and is a former cricketer got the extraordinary opportunity to turn that dream into reality as she got a chance to play cricket with former Pakistani cricketer Younus Khan, and that too, in her backyard. The video after being shared by Samara on the microblogging site Twitter has gone viral.

"Playing cricket in the garden in my salwar kameez with one of the greatest cricketers the sport has produced is what dreams are made of! Such a humble and respectful human being is @YounusK75," reads the caption of the post.

In the short clip, one can see Afzal, in salwar kameez batting as Younis Khan delivers the ball to her. The first ball bowled to Afzal by Khan is timed to perfection. 

Since being shared, the clip has amassed 104k views, 1,208 likes and several comments.

"Timed! Younis Bhai has a couple of wickets in Test cricket, so you can give yourself a pat on the back," commented one user on seeing the video.

"Well played. Straight down the ground with a big stride," wrote another user

"Very good forward defensive stroke - head still and and aligned with body over ball - well played," wrote a third.
