Thousands of people commute everyday in Mumbai local, considered as the lifeline of the city. It is usually overcrowded with people trying to somehow get into the coaches and find a place for themselves to at least fit themselves in one corner. One such video has again surfaced on social media which shows people trying to aggressively get inside the train even before the gates are opened for passengers.
The video share on subreddit r/Damnthatsinteresting , shows passengers trying to force open the door of the Mumbai local train coach in a desperate attempt to board it. A man from inside the coach gestures from the glass window to stop, but the banging continues until the doors don't open. As soon as the door opens a little, people push it to one side and hurriedly begin to enter the coach.

Since being shared, the video has gained 20,000 upvotes and several comments.
"How is it possible to do that everyday? I feel anxious just watching it," commented one user on seeing the video.
"They have no choice. They need to go to work, school whatever and local trains are the only practical option for most. Eventually, you get the hang of it," wrote another user.
"Every video out of India seems very exhausting when it comes to commuting," commented a third.
While a fourth wrote, "The logical thing to do would be build bigger and sturdy infrastructure suitable for such a large population but that doesn’t seem to be working out in practice."
"I remember many years ago the Mumbai buses added automatic doors. They worked the first few weeks. After that, I started to see more and more buses had the doors tied up to prevent them from closing because overcrowding and automatic doors are a terrible combination," wrote a fifth.
