'Bada Kazual Hai': Here's How Railways Asked Passengers To Be A 'Responsible Rail Yatri'

In an X post, the Railways cleverly used a viral meme to raise awareness among passengers about sitting next to the doors of moving trains.

The Ministry of Railways took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to disseminate a safety advisory for passengers, incorporating the popular meme "casual hai" to underscore concerns about sitting near moving train doors.

"Be a #ResponsibleRailYatri and avoid sitting by the door," the ministry conveyed on its social media platform. The accompanying image depicted passengers seated at a train door, with overlay text stating, “Train me baithne ka traika bada kazual hai" [The manner of sitting in the train is rather casual].

The ministry's tweet, published on January 3, has garnered significant attention, amassing over five lakh views. Additionally, the post has received more than 1,800 likes and elicited a plethora of responses from users.

Several users proposed potential safety enhancements in their comments:

"Consider implementing a safety feature where doors automatically lock upon reaching a specific speed," suggested one user, addressing Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Another user recommended, "Incorporate automatic closing doors across all trains, akin to metro or vande bharat, as a viable solution".

A different perspective was offered by a user who commented, "Enforce a limit on unreserved tickets or introduce additional general compartments".

Echoing concerns, a user stated, "The assumption that passengers choose to sit there is concerning. I urge the deployment of undercover officers in unreserved & non-AC compartments to assess challenges and devise potential remedies".
