X Users Might Soon Be Able To Host Web Conferences Akin To Google Meet

The Conferences feature might allow users to initiate personal group video and audio calls.

X has been rolling out updates one after the other. In the past few months, the Elon Musk-owned microblogging platform added several new features including Grok AI and a LinkedIn-like functionality to help users find jobs. Now it appears that the platform is working on a new feature which would enable users to host web conferences on the platform akin to Google Meet.

A recent post on X by the handle @xDaily said X the feature could be a part of X Spaces which would allow users to host live audio conversations on the platform itself.

As for now, the post does not reveal how this new feature will be any different from Spaces, however, it looks like the Conferences feature might allow users to initiate personal group video and audio calls.

X Spaces is open to the public, allowing anyone on the platform to participate as a listener, contributing to an inclusive and interactive environment. However, with the anticipated introduction of the 'web conference' feature, there may be restrictions on unauthorised participants joining your group calls, enhancing the privacy and security of your discussions and presenting a more structured and controlled experience akin to Google Meet.

X's Recent Developments

In recent months, X has been on a feature rollout spree, introducing various enhancements to its platform. Notable additions include the capability to initiate direct calls to other X users directly from the app, and streamlining communication channels.

Additionally, community notes have been introduced, providing users with a collaborative space to share ideas, information, and insights within their community or group, fostering a more engaging and interconnected user experience.
